SPDM stands for Seismic Positioning Data Management.

About the Course

Using case studies of data gathering, processing, loading, and suggested well placement selection, the course will provide insight into geodetic factors to ensure the elimination of geo-spatial data ambiguity. Although both seismic navigation and trace data subjects are covered, the geospatial aspect of trace data is given more attention in terms of navigation and placement. The integrity foundation for improving data quality and removing any doubt regarding georeferencing and legal ownership comes from the preservation of metadata and adherence to international standards in data communication. Enhancing efficiency at a crucial stage of the project cycle requires making sure interpreters interpret and are not distracted from their tasks by needing to fix data ties.

Target Audience

This course is intended for a broad audience, but technicians, data loaders, and data analysts stand to gain the most from it. By utilizing the techniques discussed in the course, those involved in seismic data processing can maintain data quality and produce geospatially precise imaging of subsurface structures. By utilizing the approaches discussed, asset team members who are in charge of seismic data maintenance and data loading to interpretation workstations can improve their workflows.

Course Objectives

Participants will pick up skills in:

  •  In relation to the acquisition, processing, and loading of seismic data, evaluate the data quality and handle seismic trace and navigation data.
  • Apply best practices to improve and maintain data integrity, make sure seismic data sets are suitable for their intended use, and check for geophysically important errors.
  • Maintain metadata preservation and adherence to global data interchange standards.

 Course Outlines

  •  principles for seismic navigation data simple exercises for loading 2D geodesy data
