Oil and Gas Processing Facilities Troubleshooting

About the Course

The establishment and application of a general troubleshooting technique as well as process- and equipment-specific troubleshooting will both be covered in this course. For each process and type of equipment addressed, definitions of good and normal performance will be covered. The processes for acquiring, validating, and using data will be covered. We'll also talk about how to evaluate potential problem solutions. The learning goals will be reinforced throughout the lesson via real-world exercises. We'll talk about both onshore and offshore facilities. Participants are expected to have a thorough understanding of how conventional oil and gas production and processing facilities operate, including the frequently employed procedures and machinery.

To properly address either oil or gas, we have divided this course into two parts for public delivery:

Gas Processing Facilities Troubleshooting - PF49G

Oil Processing Facility Troubleshooting - PF49O

Target Audience

senior facility operating staff, facility engineering team leaders/supervisors, and process/facilities engineers with five to ten years of experience.

Course Objectives

  •  The distinctions between debottlenecking, optimization, and troubleshooting How to spot problems as they're happening
  • How to create a rigorous troubleshooting process
  • to comprehend the relevance of the relationships between the many parts of a facility and how they affect one another.
  • How to collect, verify, and make use of the data required for troubleshooting
  • The factors to take into account when choosing the ideal option from various workable ones
  • For the primary types of processes and equipment utilized in the upstream-midstream oil and gas industry, typical root causes of issues and their fixes are provided.

Course Outlines

  • Fundamentals of troubleshooting methods and data reconciliation Liquid-gas separators
  • rotational compressors Sweetening of amine gas units of glycol dehydration
  • triple-phase separators axial-flow pumps treating the oil
  • systems for treating produced water Heat exchangers with shell and tubes rotating-blade compressors units of molecular sieve dehydration NGL recovery methods
