Offshore Production Flow Assurance - FAOP

About the Course

The design and operation of offshore production facilities must include flow assurance. This is especially true as the industry transitions to reservoirs with higher temperature and pressure, deeper water, longer tiebacks, deeper wells, and longer tiebacks. Waxes, asphaltenes, emulsions, scale, corrosion, erosion, solids transport, slugging, and operability are all significant challenges that call for a lot of work, despite the fact that gas hydrate issues dominate thermohydraulic design. The participant will be given enough theory and correlation information to comprehend how the applications work. To guarantee that the practical applications are mastered, a lot of time is spent on application and design activities throughout this five-day intensive course.

It was "interactive - good discussion through problems and explanation of theory for practical solutions." Australian Project Engineer

Excellent visual help. Good answers to the questions. Spreadsheets that are very useful and informative are offered. - Design Engineer from the UK

Target Audience

Technical professionals who need a foundation in the principles, difficulties, and solutions for offshore flow assurance, including engineers, operators, and technical managers who are in charge of offshore completions, production, and development. People working in the flow of produced fluids in onshore production operations can also benefit from taking this course.

 Course Objectives

Participants will pick up skills in:

  •  Recognize the elements of a comprehensive flow assurance analysis and comprehend how they relate to the design and operation of the production system.
  • Interpret and use reservoir fluid sample and laboratory testing data in relation to flow assurance Recognize the fundamental characteristics of reservoir fluids and how the production flowline system models them.
  • Recognize steady state and transient multiphase flow modeling using thermohydraulic theory in offshore production systems.
  •  Evaluation and comparison of mitigation and remediation methods for slugging, scale, corrosion, erosion, paraffin (waxes), asphaltenes, emulsions, and gas hydrates
  • Recognize the components of a subsea production facility, flowline, and export flowline operability report.

Course Outlines

  •  Introduction to flow assurance
  • Fluid characteristics and PVT analysis
  • Multiphase flow modeling in steady state and transient situations Controlled by hydrate, paraffin, and asphaltene
  • Basics of controlling sand, scale, corrosion, and erosion Modeling of fluid property and phase behavior state equations
  • Frugality and balance oils' viscosities Thermal simulation
  • increasing multiphase pressure
  • ydrodynamic, terrain-induced, and ramp-up slugging activities for commissioning, starting up, and stopping
