Measurement of Flow and Level

About the Course

In order to move liquid and gaseous petroleum products from supplier to consumer with high accuracy, this course's users will become familiar with the challenges and solutions in this area. These requirements have been prompted by significant modifications in manufacturing techniques as well as a number of dramatic external factors, such as the rising cost of fuel and raw materials, the need to reduce pollution, and the mounting pressure to comply with health and safety regulations.

Target Audience

Anyone who is or will be in charge of designing, choosing, sizing, specifying, installing, testing, operating, and maintaining instrumentation linked to the field of custody level and flow transfer measurement should attend this session. Engineers and technicians in the fields of facilities, processes, chemicals, electrical, instruments, maintenance, and mechanical could fall under this category.

Course Objectives

Participants will pick up skills in:

  • Remember the fundamentals of fluid mechanics
  • Determine the fundamental issues with uncertainty.
  • Compare the various flow measurement techniques used in the oil and gas sectors.
  • Describe the many techniques for measuring level.
  • Compare the various processes used to create strapping tables.
  • Compare and contrast the current custody transfer standards with the flow calibration techniques.
  • Describe the various prover system kinds.
  • Describe the process utilized to transfer vehicle custody.
  • Consider the difficulties with pipelines
  • What are the fundamentals of leak detection?
  • Examine the procedures for observing and preventing production losses.
  • Analyze and contrast the issues and fixes related to measuring NGL, LPG, and LNG.
