Facilities for Oil Production and Processing

About the Course

The focus of this course is on oil production facilities, from the wellhead to the refinery delivery of a product that meets specifications for crude oil. Facilities on land and offshore are both covered. Additionally included are systems for processing produced water and injecting water. We'll talk at a fairly high level about solution gas handling procedures and tools. In addition to the engineering features of oil production facilities, real-world operational issues including emulsion treatment, sand handling, dealing with wax and asphaltenes, etc. will also be covered. Throughout the course, calculations-intensive exercises are used. The upstream oil and gas facilities area's gas handling side was the emphasis of the course, which was designed to complement the G-4 Gas Conditioning and Processing course.

The Oman Institute of Oil & Gas is hosting a session in Muscat from May 14–23 in addition to the open sessions listed to the right. find out more

Target Audience

Process/facilities engineers and senior operations staff who work on the design and operation of oil and produced water processing facilities.
